Studio Policies & Dress Code 2010-2011
Our studio policies are in place to help maintain the safety and professionalism of our studio. We ask that all students and their families who enter Dance Fusion adhere to these policies both in and out of class.

Studio Dress Code
General Studio Policies

- Students must have proper dance attire in each class. Hair must be tied back securely and no jewelry is allowed. Students will be asked to leave the class if not dressed appropriately. (Please refer to Dress Code for suitable attire for each class)
- No student is to leave the classroom without permission. If a parent needs to speak with a student, a message can be relayed through the office only.
- Ten minutes grace period will be accepted for latecomers. However, due to safety (lack of warm-up) and class disturbance, no one may join a class in progress after that time.
- No gum is permitted in the studio whatsoever.
- Only water in bottles is permitted in the studios during class. Other food and drinks are restricted to the waiting area only. Please clean up after yourselves.
- There is no smoking permitted out in front of the studio or on studio property. We are to be setting an example for the children and are promoting a professional and healthy environment.
- Please do not interrupt a class in progress. TV monitors will be turned on in the lobby for viewing.
- If a problem should arise with your child please talk to the Studio Director or the Secretary on hand. Please do not approach other teachers. The Studio Director will handle all problems.
Missed Classes
Everybody misses classes for one reason or another but it is important that you attend your regularly scheduled class. If you do miss a class we can offer you an alternative that week if available. There are no refunds for missed classes. From January onward each class will be working on a specific routine and therefore it will be difficult to participate in make-up classes. The work that you are doing in your own class is very important and your attendance is essential. Absenteeism from March onward may result in the student's limited participation in a Recital number.
Class Cancellations
The studio reserves the right to combine or cancel classes in the event of low attendance. The studio reserves the right to cancel classes due to inclement weather or other emergencies and no makeup classes will be issued. Please call the studio after 3:00pm and listen to the message on the machine if there is a question regarding class cancellation and an email will be sent out as well.
Payment Policies

- Upon Registration there is a $25.00 non-refundable Family Registration Fee.
- Dance Fusion accepts cash payments, cheques and Visa or Mastercard.
- Multiple class and family discounts will be applied as necessary.
- Male students receive half price regular classes, with no additional discounts on top of that.
- For students wishing to discontinue classes, all unused cheques will be returned upon notification. You must notify the office one week prior to the date of your next cheque.
- All cashed cheques or payments made are non-refundable.
- There is a $45.00 charge for any returned cheque from the bank, including NSF or stopped payments
- All fees are subject to 13% HST tax.
There are 3 options of payments at Dance Fusion:
- Post-dated cheques covering your yearly tuition can be submitted upon Registration. Cheques can be dated for either the 1st, 10th or 20th of each month.
- Payments made monthly by the 1st of the month by cash or credit card. First and last months tuition is due upfront if paying month to month.
- Payment for the entire year can be made in one payment by cash, cheque or credit card.
Recital & Costume Policies

- Dance Fusion's Year End Recital is scheduled for June 25-26 2011, at the Chinese Cultural Center in Scarborough. We encourage all dancers to finish the year and participate in this spectacular show.
- Each child will have 1 Recital dance and costume per class that they participate in.
- Costume Fees range in price from $50.00-$90.00 plus HST.
Studio Dress Code

We have a dress code in place to help students with a positive body image and to allow the teacher to correct alignment and technique. There are no exceptions.
All attire and shoes can be purchased at Dance Fusion.
Note that any required tights and shoes for a class will be part of their Recital costume in June, so we encourage everyone to purchase the correct shoes and attire to begin with.
Kidazzle Classes 1 & 2
- pink bodysuit, may also wear a pink skirt
- pink ballet tights
- pink ballet slippers
- black patent tap shoes
All Ballet Classes
- black tank bodysuit
- pink ballet tights
- pink split sole ballet shoes
- hair must be in a bun
Jazz Classes
- black tank bodysuit
- beige footed tights
- black tight shorts may be worn
- beige slip on jazz shoes
Tap Classes
- black tank bodysuit
- beige footed tights
- black tight shorts may be worn
- black tap shoes (appropriate heel size will be determined by studio)
Teen Classes
- black shorts or capri pants
- solid tank top or tight t-shirt
- black slip on tap shoes and/or black slip on jazz shoes
Hip Hop Classes
- plain loose fitting pants, NO jeans or tear-aways
- solid color tank top or T-shirt
- clean indoor running shoes, NO outdoor shoes permitted
Acro Classes
- black tank top or tank bodysuit and black shorts
- bare feet
Company Jazz, Tap & Lyrical Classes
- black shorts
- solid tank top or halp top
- parents will be informed about necessary shoes for Competitions by the Fall
